Handmade glasses straps made with needle lace crochet aka Oya technique/Turkish needle lace embroidery. It is a very old technique used over generations in the Anatolian part of Turkey mainly used for trimming scarfs, towels, pillowcases, or even three-dimensional realistic flowers and plants as ornaments. This tradition often used to make a trim for pieces to fill the dowry chest of a bride. This tradition is still being practiced today in Turkey. Each motif represents a unique statement of its maker.
